MSI Launches 49-inch QD-OLED Curved Gaming Monitor: Featuring 240Hz Refresh Rate, 0.03ms GTG and More

MSI has unveiled the MPG 491CQPX QD-OLED monitor, a 49-inch ultra-wide curved display designed for professional and casual gamers. Pricing for the monitor has not been announced yet, but it is reportedly expected to be around $1,000. Let's take a look at its key specs.

The MPG 491CQPX features a 49-inch curved screen with 1800R curvature for an immersion-enhancing cinematic view. It features DualQHD (5120 x 1440) resolution for vivid and crisp visuals in an ultra-wide aspect ratio.

It features a Samsung QD-OLED panel that brings out lifelike colors, covering 98% of the Adobe RGB, 99% of the DCI-P3, and 146% of the sRGB color gamuts. With a peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits in HDR, the monitor supports VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400, ensuring deep blacks and striking contrasts, essential for HDR content.

It comes with a 240Hz refresh rate and an impressive 0.03ms GTG response time, making it an ideal choice for fast-paced, competitive gaming. The MPG 491CQPX also comes with Adaptive Sync, which synchronizes with the GPU to prevent screen tearing and stuttering.For extra protection, MSI has included OLED Care 2.0, featuring Pixel Shift, Panel Protect, and Static Screen Detection technologies to minimize the risk of burn-in and prolong the panel’s lifespan.

In terms of connectivity, the monitor sports one DisplayPort 1.4a, two HDMI 2.1 ports, and a USB Type-C port with 98W Power Delivery support, providing versatility for connecting multiple devices. It also comes with a headphone jack for added audio convenience.

Ergonomically, it allows tilt adjustment from -5° to 20°, left/right swivel of 30° and a height adjustment range of up to 100mm. it is compatible with the VESA 100x100mm bracket, allowing users to customise the setup to fit their space. For ease of use, it comes with a 5-way joystick navigator located at the bottom centre of the rear panel.

Earlier this year, MSI also introduced the MAG 255PXF gaming monitor with a 300Hz refresh rate.
