Casio and Hello Kitty have collaborated on several occasions to create limited edition watches and other products. These collaborations have often featured Hello Kitty-themed designs, colours and patterns incorporated into Casio's popular watch models. The brand continues this tradition with the G-Shock DW-5600KT24-1JR, a limited edition watch celebrating the 50th anniversary of Casio's G-Shock and Hello Kitty.
The watch retains the familiar DW-5600 look, but adds a little bit of Hello Kitty with a glowing bow and special case back to celebrate the occasion. This subtle design pays homage to Hello Kitty fans while maintaining the ruggedness that G-Shock is known for.
As part of the tough-as-nails DW-5600 series, this model offers 20 ATM water resistance and a shock-resistant build, so it’s great for everyday wear or outdoor adventures. The watch is expected to feature a 1/100-second stopwatch, shock resistance, an electro-luminescent backlight, and a 24-hour countdown timer. It may also include an auto calendar, alarm, hourly time signal, and a durable resin band and case.
The watch will launch in Japan this October for 18,700 yen (about $126 USD). While a global release hasn't been confirmed, past collaborations suggest it may be available internationally. It's already listed on Casio's Japanese website, but it's not available for purchase just yet.
Casio will launch the DQD-851J-8JF desk clock in Japan on 25 October. Inspired by the vintage A158 digital wristwatch, it includes the Wave Ceptor function for automatic time adjustment in Japan, a built-in thermometer and hygrometer, a customisable snooze alarm, a 12/24 hour format, an automatic calendar and an amber LED light.
